One of my kids favorite things to see in the mornings on they way to school are hot air balloons. They love watching them drift above their heads, imagining where they’ll land. The Spirit Of Boise Balloon Classic is an amazing way to see several balloons at one time. You can see many different shapes and colors up close and depending on the time of day, you can see them do amazing things. Here’s the run down on the Spirit of Boise events that are happening next weekend.
Wednesday Morning is the CapEd Kids Day. Bring the kiddos to enjoy amazing photo opps and a chance for them to get up close and personal with the balloons. The kids can enjoy FREE tethered balloon rides starting at 6:45. The tethered balloon rides last as long as the balloons have air, so make sure to get there early if you want them to enjoy a ride. Also, bring some snacks since the lines can get long and they’ll be waiting awhile. Last year we got to the park around 8:30 and they were starting to take down the balloons since they were out of air, so try to get there early. My little girls were too scared to get close to the balloons, so we just enjoyed getting close for some amazing pictures. Take a few minutes to walk around as well, there are also other activities set up for the kiddos too.
Thursday morning is media day. You don’t have to be a part of the media to participate in this early event. Come out and enjoy the kickoff of the weekend events. Event starts at 6:45 and will go until around 8:45.
Friday . Prepare to see the morning sky filled with hot air balloons (depending on the weather, of course) Starting at 6:45 the balloons will launch and fly around. This is when you’ll get a glimpse of how amazing these balloons are. Friday night is my family's personal favorite event - the balloon glow. Bring chairs, or blankets and prepare to see all the balloons light up at dusk. Prior to the balloons illuminating there will be music and entertainment. I saw that there will be various Jedi’s and Stormtroopers wandering around. My kids are going to be surprised by this little secret.
Saturday and Sunday more early morning launches to fill the sky. Sunday morning is another opportunity to get up close and personal with the balloons. Adults can enjoy tethered rides and there may also be opportunities to enjoy a ride.
