It’s that time of year to enjoy everything apple! One of my favorite memories as a child is going to the apple orchard and coming home with tons of apples. My parents would spend days peeling and preparing apples for pies, applesauce, apple crisps and so much more. We would have the box of apples stored in the garage for us to grab a healthy snack. This year I’m starting that tradition again. I’ve made a list of the local apple picking orchards around the valley with the types of apples so you can pick the best place for your family. Please call ahead to make sure the there are still apples available.
Anderson Apple Ranch. Featuring Red Delicious and Golden Delicious apples. Open late September through October, Fridays and Saturdays 10am-7pm.
Cabalo’s Orchard. Featuring Gala, Gravenstein, Honey Crisp, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Jonathan, MacIntosh, Winesap, Braeburn, Criterion apples. Check out the website for specific apple picking dates, each variety differs. Open Friday and Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 1-6pm.
Candy Apple Orchard. Featuring Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, and Rome Beauties. Also available are local pressed apple cider, take and bake apple pies, apple butter and more. Open October 1st, Sunday-Friday 8:30am-6:30pm.
Jackson’s Orchard. Featuring Jonathan, Gala, Fuji, and Golden Delicious. Also available fried peach and apple pies, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Canary Melons, Locally grown Tomatoes – Heirloom, Green, Big Beefy, Yellow, Yellow, Zucchini & Butternut Squash, Red & Green Peppers, Onions, New & Red Potatoes, Cucumbers & Green Beans, honey, peaches, and more. Open now Monday -Saturday 8am-6pm.
Symms Fruit Ranch. Featuring Gala, Janagold, Jonathan, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Rome, Pink Lady, Granny Smith, and Fiji. Contact them for hours.
Williams Fruit Ranch. Featuring Gala, Cameo, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Jonathan, Rome, Fuji, and Honeycrisp. Also available peaches, several varieties. Monday -Friday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm.
